I accessed rootschat no problem:www(.)rootschat(.)com usual thing with the brackets! I found it really good, the Sussex bit is excellent, the guy John mentioned has loads of records, census etc and is very helpful.

Hi Rebecca, Put Sussex Family History into Google search engine, lots of my Grandmothers family come from Rye and Hastings, I am just going out now but I think you will find quite a lot of info on this site, I actually belong to it but you can still use most of it with out joining. I think the records office for Hastings is in Lewes. Bye for now. Maggie

Hi all, I have just found out that my 4xg grandparents were living in Hastings in the 1830s/1840s. The IGI has 3 of theirchildrens christenings listed, 2 at St Mary Magdalene and the other at St Mary in the castle. As I don`t know the area, I was hoping someone could give me some info on these churches. Also which records office covers Hastings? t.i.a. Rebecca
