Norton = Norten = Nortin = Nortan = Naughton = Noton = Morton = Morten = Orton = Orten. Jamison = Jameson = Jamieson. Hutton = Hutten = Hutlow = Huton = Mutton = Utton. These are the only ones I have come across so far, probably only transciption and hearing errors but it does make life differcult.

Thought i might start a thread on variations on names as there seem to be quite a few people out there asking is there another name for this or that. Might be worth searching on variations. What do you think? I'll start with some common in Scotland.. Iain = John Margaret = Peggy or Maggie Christina = Kirsty Janet = Jessie Alexander = Alec Laughlan = Lachie Farquhar = Fachie If i come accross any more I will add them on. Please feel free. Pam :-))
