Yes, that is exactly what I meant. They don't go far enough, or they are not general enough, or, ... I can' describe it exactly, but it's not got the answers to my FAQs. |

Thanks, Linda. The daft thing is, if the search facility had been available, I could have used it to avoid postings like this one !! Another idea: How about a FAQ board for all these sort of questions which are asked again and again ?? |

I strongly miss a search facility for a text-search within a topic, within a board, or across the GC-site. At the moment it seems I can only "Search for Ancestors" or do a page-search, with Control-F on one page. And when a popular topic has many pages, then I have to call up and search each page individually. Am I missing something here ?? And if there really is no text-search available, does anybody else think a more general search facility would be useful ?? |
