Margaret. Don't give up. Have just found a missing link 5 miles from my village of interest but in Huntingdonshire, not Northants. Some of the clues were staring me in the face for 10 years, but now I see the clues after I have found the info!! I have been researching for more years than I care to think about but to find this 1657 info has ben worth the wait. However as usual one door opens and another almost closes as the person he married was SMITH! Oh well with the smaller population back in 1650 maybe I have not quite so many Smiths to plough through! I have written you one more note on your first thread. Good luck Janet

Margaret DONT GIVE UP - I had a stoke of luck over the weekend I posted messages on surname interest sites and contacted several people with the same surname interest and areas that i was looking in. It has taken a year and finally someone has got back to me. Turns out that my G.G Grandpa could'nt make up his mind what to call himself or his children! He was born Napp, recorded at birth as Nailard - put Napp on his first sons birth cert then baptised him as Nailard.. it goes on and on..but i'm now back to 1795 - so keep going. Best of luck - Sue.

The reference in Essex should read "Writtle".

Hi Margaret You didn't say when the marriage was but I think that some people didn't know how old they were back in the 1800s. Could it be that there was a transcription error with his surname which is making it difficult to find his death? Heather

Hi Heather, I have asked so many people but unless the said person lied by 16 years on his marriage cert.if he did i might have found the right person but can't understand why I can't find a death cert. Margaret

Hi Margaret I know just how you feel. Some of mine aren't on the 1881. If you give us the details you have, perhaps we can help. Heather

Hi Over the weekend I have looked at every scrap of paper everything I have got ,sorted it all out and decided for one side of my family tree I am no further than when I started 2 years ago apart from a marriage cert. and the 1881 census, everything I have bought has been wrong and do not feel as though they filled anything in or registered anything even a death. Margaret.
