It Looks as though you might just be inside the time frame for Irish BMD registrations, they started in 1864. If you have a local LDS centre, they should be able to get hold of the film of the index for you. It will only give you the GRO reference number but it will be a start. Irish Records are not held in England. With the date you have given, they will be in Dublin and/or Belfast. Your best bet Money wise when you have the details is to contact the Records Office in Dublin for any certificates as it is cheaper. It may be a bit of a hassle with the Euro etc, but definitely cheaper. Take a look at Theresa's thread about Irish Genealogy, and Deb's thread about printable list of sites. You will find some good leads there. Try the "cmcrp" site, it is free to register and has county forums and a search facility. Paul

I'm trying to find my great grandmothers family. She was born in 1865 in Dublin, Ireland. Does anyone know where I can find anything which may help. IGI hasn't been of much help. Wendy
