I have also heard of immigrants from Germany coming over inside a piano. bet that was uncomfortable . Things don't change much do they. We now get illegal immigrants inside lorries not pianos! KIM |

In North London from St Pancras down to Tottenham Court Road was full of Pianoforte Makers, so there are literally hundreds of them! (The one's in my tree were LENSH and possibly also ENNEVER.) |

I LIVED IN GEORGIANA STREET,CAMDEN TOWN IN 1958 AND THERE WAS A PIANO FACTORY AT THE BACK OF OUR HOUSE BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER THE NAME ED. |

Most of my rellies in the 1800's lived in the St Pancras and Marylebone area, and they were either pianoforte tuners or makers. Does anyone know where or names of manufacturers in this area. Many thanks Linda |
