i have also just found my birth mum and 8 uncle and aunts and the rest of the mob, totaling about 100 people still looking for my father but family members say that they know where he is. well done. |

Paul, It must have been so wonderful to hear from your birth mother. I am still searching for mine, so know what you must have gone through. I hope you eventually meet her. best wishes, Sue |

Hi Paul I am so pleased to hear your good news, I have been thinking of you and watching the boards. I found a cousin in America thanks to two GC members there and am awaiting a reply to a letter, not as important as your news but hopefully worthwhile. Good luck with the rest of your research. Hi Paul. I'm so pleased for you. Don't give up on ever meetimg your mum though. I was in a similar position 18 years ago when I traced mine but when her partner died she was finally able to tell her other children about me and make contact.I'm still waiting to meet any of them as they live in Australia and New Zealand but at 53 I have more parts for the jigsaw of my life.Good luck with finding your dad too. |

I took advice from you good people and wrote a very appealing letter explaining that I would like to meet but didn't want to cause embarressment etc etc. Well a week later I got a reply with a photo and some info about grandparents, even my father's name plus explanation, single mother living with her mother in a 3 child household without a father. Mum's children by a later marriage do not know about me so she wants it to remain that way. Now at 57 my search has finally almost come to an end. I say almost because I may now try to trace my father who mum hasn't had any contact with. My next message may be asking for advice on contacting dad. Thanks everyone especially Joan Allen at My Folks web site. Dave |
