Thanks to both of you for your help. There does not seem to be a free trial on offer at the moment, but maybe it will come up again. Diana

Here's another tip. If you're thinking of joining Ancestry, it might be worth signing up with OneTel(.)co.uk so you can call Ancestry if need be. When I called I got straight through. Anyway, apart from calls only costing 3 pence a minute to the US, all your other calls will be cheaper too and there are no fees if you select the online billing option. I think calls to mobiles might be slightly more. Crista

Diana, If you want a true monthly plan, without the annual subscription, call them. That's what I did. I have a monthly plan for $19.95 for the US census collection. Crista

Diana I took out the 2 week free trial on ancestry, and the info i found was really useful. My problem was when i tried to unsub at the end of the free trial, that was a nightmare! so yes, i would say it was worth the money for the amount of info you can get, just be very careful to read all the small print twice and when/if you come to end your subscription make sure you start emailing or ringing them a good week or so in advance because getting them to do anything is a long hard job! Is this site worth a monthly subscription of $12.95? I know about the small print saying the subscriber agrees to an annual payment commitment. Diana, Stockport.
