I've more or less given up uploading updated versions of my Tree on GC because it's such a fiddle to then go and edit out all the living relatives. Am I missing something obvious? Is there an easy way? GC is a great site... but apart from skipping from one message board to another, the functionality of everything else seems such a chore - especially when your tree is quite large. Any tips? |

Hi Linda, What program do you use to store your tree ? I use PAF and you can choose to leav out the full details of the living and just put names in when you create the GEDCOM file. Rick. |

I use Family Historian - which is excellent. I have no problems when uploading my Tree to GenCircles or TribalPages as they both a living relatives option. It just GC that doesn't! |

I don't think GC can do it. Is there no way of doing it from Family Historian (sorry - I don't know the product)? There are all sorts of options in PAF about what to export and what not to. Rick. |

Afraid not... I'm really wondering if anyone has found a quick way to edit their GC tree? |

Hi Linda, Make a second copy of your tree in Family Historian by using Save as and giving it a different name. Then select File, Split Tree Helper... and Delete all individual records Not found by age at death. You should then have a tree containing only those individuals for whom you have entered a date of death which you can upload to GC Hope this helps. Judith |
