Sometimes the "virus programs" put the same address in "to" and "from", so I sometimes get viruses which I (supposedly) have sent to ME !!!! That is a hard one to trace !!

I find that Norton deletesall my netsky infected e mails. My problem is that Outlook express deletes attachments it thinks are suspect, and they are not. yesterday it deleted on which was an image sent to me by someone on here who had kindly looked up something at the records office for me, infuriating. ann Glos

Re Mailwasher program.....there are, I believe two, versions of Mailwahser....one is free from the Internet, the other is a "pay for" version. The free versions of anything are the things that add spyware to your computer.....the "pay for" versions are spyware free. If you're willing to pay for the Mailwash program, I'm sure it's a wonderful program and money well spent if the program gives you the results you want. There are several shareware sites where you can obtain just about any "pay for" program alleviating having to pay for them or worrying about unwanted spyware.....I have the shareware site if anyone is interested. I can only think they with the brains they have they have nothing better to do. It only proves how childish they all are. You know the sort of thing I mean. Irene

We're getting quite a few at work too, but the anti-virus is killing them before they get into the network.

THANK YOU to ALL OF YOU!! for your views, Mailwasher would appear to be the only answer, however there are many of you advising against using it for various valid reasons. I have visited the Mailwasher site and read all about it, but am now not sure what I should do. I'll have to think about it. Ann........I have found Judy's reply to your question, another 'against'. I have AOL 9 now and the spam controls are better, even have a spam e mail folder to check now too.

Here's another scary thought..... Chances are that for every virus you receive, someone else will be receiving a virus with YOUR spoofed address at the top. You best bet is to educate all your friends to use anti-virus software and to keep it up to date. Crista

I wouldn't advise bouncing viruses back. Remember, they are not being sent by the person listed in the reply address. They are coming from a 3rd party who has both your names in their address book. Bouncing them back to the poor person whose name has been spoofed in the reply address will increase the chances of that person being infected. Crista

Yes this is driving me mad too!! I get absolutely NO spam, so cannot understand why I suddenly started to get all these. The handy thing with Ya hoo (dunno about others) is that it shows you 'bulk' and 'inbox' separately, so you can see the list of 'bulk' e-mails with their senders and subjects on a separate page and delete all at once with one click. They have never yet been from anyone I have ever had contact with. I know that Norton quarantines any that get through and I am hopefully safe, but it is such a nuisance - I get at least 3 or more every day. Maz. XX

I get loads too, but they are from people I have never been in touch with, I get so much junk mail I wish someone would do something about them, this new law dosen't seem to have helped at all. My Norton picks up the virus if I go to my email box first but I have now started to go to my Tascali account and delete them from there so much quicker as you just click on the box and tick them all then go down and make sure you keep the ones you want usually there are only one or two out of 70, that would be twice a day. They are a right pain I would change my email address but as I have been doing my family history for 3 years my email address are on lots of sites and I just might miss a connection. I know how you all feel. Irene

I'm writing this with all my fingers and toes crossed! I have not had any Netsky virus sent to me. I am on AOL8. My boss is on MSN and yesterday had 12 Netsky e-mails. Norton deleted the attachments after warning about the virus. Maybe AOL, for all it's faults, have actually got something right for a change! Sue (with arms and legs crossed too) LOL

Christel, Have to say you are not the only one, I was getting soooo many each day, used to drive me potty. I have installed mailwasher, so I am just bouncing them back to whre they came from, and hopefully the ones that are infected will realise where the virus is coming from! Kim

I am getting SO cheesed off with all these viruses!! First it was Norvarg then Mydoom but this Netsky is driving me mad!! On average I get 8-10 a day (which Norton picks up and removes the attachment) Why do I get so many? Is anyone else inundated every day? Is there anything I can do about it? I would be SO grateful for any help you can give me. Christel :(
