Helena, You have to apply through the South African Embassy closest to you. To the Department of Home Affairs. Alternatively, you can try contacting online throught the email address I have already given you. It is a catch 22 situation as the information that you require, you have to supply the details of which you wanted in the first place. i.e. I can get a copy of my birth cetificate because I know where my birth was registered, full names of parents, dates of birth etc. etc. I cannot get a copy of my Mother's because of insufficient details of her parents. Does anyone know if birth, marriages and deaths are recorded and if so for how long? |
