I can't remember which site a certain member was asking for web sites for looking for her Russian/Finnish ancestors. Have now looked up a few more for her, but she's disappeared. How long do these messages stay on the board? They don't arf disappear quickly to me. Can't be looking 24 hours a day even if I had the time! Sylvia

Hi Sylvia I'm not the person who was originally asking for help, but I also have an ancestor from Russia (Latvia?) and would be interested to know of any websites you have found. Many thanks Helen

Glad to be of help. Try also: www.genealogia.ru this will take you into a Russian genealogical programme. They have very good written English. Success, Sylvia

Thanks for that site, Sylvia - have just been on it. Amazing - a completely English version available - can you imagine the Ancestry website with an option to translate into Russian (I don't think so!)

If you need any translating try Babelfish. Sylvia
