I think I may have found a birth entry for my grandfather b.1919 but I'm stumped on the entry given under the district? it says - St.Gec.H.Sq. does anyone know where this district is please? thanks Elaine |

It's St. George's, Hanover Square. It's London, not sure exactly where though... (so it's St Geo. not St Gec) |

Hanover Sq is just to the west of Regent st and south of oxford st. But the registration district was much larger and covered as far as I remember parts of victoria & westminster. Should have put central London SW1 area, I was assuming every one would know Oxford St, its just in the SW corner of oxford circus. |

Thanks very much for the info - as I recall I have some relly's there - on my Dad's mothers side - haven't done much work on that line as yet though, but always nice to have the information on hand ! |
