Hi Lynne Yes there is scotlands people. It costs 6 GBP for 30 credits over 48 hours you can download the certificate then. It keeps a record of your searches also. Well worth the money no waiting 2 weeks, so you can move on quickly Pat

Thanks Pat I have just found that site but what I really need is a way of ordering just one certificate. It's for a colleague who was born in Scotland and needs a copy of her birth certificate. Any ideas? Thanks again. Lynne

If she apply's to the local register office in the town where she was born with the date etc they will forward one one to her. The GRO in Edinburgh will also do this. The phone numbers she will find on google to enquire re cost. Cannot remember but think it is 10GBP. Hope this helps Pat
