Anybody know what these records show. Devon achives hold documents relating to my gggrandfather, but they are bound and not copyable. Would it be worth a long trip to see them? |

Helena, why don't you try contacting the devon family history society at www(.)devonfhs(.)org(.)uk Remove brackets. You could ask them what the records are likely to hold and I think they will also do searches for you but as they are bound records, maybe not. Worth a try. Pam |

Hi Helena,Looks like he was a recognised beer seller,but what the info would be im not sure,could just be something simple like where he worked,you didnt mention a date he may be in one of the retailers ledgers,not much help really,hope you find what your loking for.Jan |

Hi, Further to the above replies, have you thought about looking in Kelly's Directories for the area? My 'victualler' is listed as brewing beer to sell to traders so there might be something about your ancestor. All the best! |
