Married or maiden name on death certificate?

In my experience it is only her married name that is used on death certs in England and Wales. In Scotland i believe that there is a bit more detail. |

I am trying to trace the (possibly suicidal) death of a relative between 1890 and 1910. I have found on FreeBMD two different entries which meet my search criteria using the relatives maiden and married name. What is recorded on the certificate and/or PRO index (which FreeBMD uses), a woman's married or maiden name? Thanks, Barry |
