Hi Has anyone used old directories to aid them with their research? Does anyone know if there are any London directories online? or if not, where could I find them? Thanks Ange

Kellys and other post office directories are a very good way of tracking people from one address until they disappear, possibly meaning a death or a move elsewhere, so you can use these in conjunction with census and births to keep track of your ancestors. They are especially useful if your ancestor has any business as these are always in there. Not all people were in these books so mainly useful for those with businesses and living in own property which not many did in the 1800's. Always worth a look. Janet
