Hi, Can someone please help as I am really puzzled as to what relationship a grandnephew of my father would be to me - a half second cousin by any chance?? I have looked at the relationship calculators and am flumoxxed. I'm pretty new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Jenni |

Hi Jenni. My answer is that I don't know but I am giving your query a nudge because I love to see the replies to this sort of question. I too have a chart but always end up tying myself in cerebral knots. So Nudge Roger In East Sussex |

I'd say cousin-once-removed (you'd be a cousin to his niece/nephew - the grand-nephew's parent, so adding on a generation to just one side would make the 'once-removed'. If you had a child, he/she and the grand-nephew would be second cousins). Something like that anyway ! ;) Simon |

Hi folks, Many thanks for your replies. Sorry guys, but my brain's pretty foggy tonight as I was up until 6am this morning working on my tree!! I meant to say that it is a half grandnephew of my father. The child's grandmother was my father's half-sister. Working out relationships is as bad as my maths!! Kind regards, Jenni |
