How do I confirm parents name without buying certs

I've managed to find several suspected Great aunts, uncles and couisins for serveral branches of my family but to buy the certificates to confirm them all would cost far too much for my little budget I'm afraid. Is there only parish registers or is there anywhere you can go that will show you the basic info from the certificates without actualy buying them.

If they are pre 1901 you can find them on censuses. Janice

where can I find 1851 census, please?
