I am unable to use system restore for some reason. I have just activated Microsoft outlook and decided that I don't want it, I prefer Outlook express. I cannot find how to deactivate (I think uninstall would get rid of M.soft office which I don't want to do) when I went to system restore I found that it would not work? Any cures? I'm using office 2000 with XP

Paul when you say it won't work how far do you get, do you reach the calendar of restore dates? Also check control panel /system/system restore that "turn off system restore" isn't checked. If you start outlook express it should ask if you wish to make it default, click yes. Or go to internet explorer/tools/internet options/programs and under e-mail select outlook express from the drop down list. Bob

Bob, I get right back to restarting my computor but then a message appears which says that the system was unable to restore. I have tried several highlighted dates but always get the same result. I have used system restore successfully in the past but even using the same date is not possible. The check box in system restore is clear. But I have now managed to get outlook express back on top. Thanks.

Paul....first reboot the computer and try system restore again.....if that doesn't work try system restore in safe mode.....that might do the trick. Judy
