Member Since: October 2003 Posts: 430 Send Message	HI I have had this abbreviation on a certificate i ordered to and could not find out what it meant so i emailed the GRO. They told me that it stands for Urban Sub District. Hope this helps you. Regards Sharon

	I recently received a birth certificate and in the column When and where born it gives the address as 5D blake Street U.S.D. The place was Barrow In Furness, Lancs, but what does U.S.D. mean?? Thanks for any/all suggestions you may have to offer. Barbara
