query re: christian name Judd???

Has anyone come across the christian name, Judd? Could it be short for something, or just unusual? I've heard it as a surname before and I think there's an american actor who has Judd as a first name, but mine is going back to 1776!! Any ideas??? Steph |

HAD TO STICK A REPLY ON THIS ONE! Judd would not be a christian name in my family! There must be Judd's though because otherwise you wouldn't get the surname Judson... There are some in America but not heard of many here.Could also be mispelt Jude? KIM |
