My grandmother Elizabeth Jane Mason was born in Sunderland, her parents William Frederick Mason and Mary Jane Crofton were married in Sunderland. Mary Janes' family are on the 1881 census but I can't find any trace of William Frederick before or after his wedding. My grandmother was born in 1892 but the family aren't on either the 1891 or 1901 census, I have tried all the variations on the spelling but have got nowhere. They lived on Rosedale street around the time my grandmother was born but had moved to Eden Vale by the time she married in 1925. Anyone got any ideas before I go mad! Lyn

Hi Linda, I can't find them on the 1891 census either, but is Mary not the one listed on the 1901 census as Mary Mason bn Sunderland age 36 living in Sth Shields? Debbie
