Hi yes my ggranfather came from Haverhill but looking on the 1901 census for someone it said born Haverhill Sussex Margaret

I have a number of instances where Essex has been transcribed as Sussex on censuses.

Jean in Ipswich Suffolk Haverhill is in SUFFOLK about 30 miles from Ipswich

I have a cert where the county Suffolk is transcribed as Sussex. (Unless the area has moved southwards)!! Liz

Hi all I thought it was in Suffolk but found an entry in the 1901 census and it it said sussex but thank you all Margaret
