There will always be 4 persons to a page if it has been fully transcribed (I believe 8 to a page in earlier years). They are listed alphabetically by surname. So the only way to be certain is to send for the marriage certificate of the one you know and work back from there. Cutting out a step gives a fifty percent chance that you will follow the wrong family back from that point.

Did the same for my grt grandmother new her name Louisa Flint , found her on census with mother Sarah , when I finally sent off got birth certificate mother was Ann who had died and then father remarried again. Shows you do need the birth /marriage documents as the only order freebmd is in in alphabetical ,( just because 2 names are shown doesn't mean they married each other. )KIM

Can you honestly say that you are one hundred percent sure you are following the right tree Let me tell you what happened to me I had a family ,of Father , Mother , and son I knew the name of the father as it was on the son's marriage Cert. So I went into bmd, found the pair, just the father and what I thought was the mother, I then couldnt find her death, as she died age 28(I found later) I then contacted someone else searching the same surname as the mother, they then went into bmd, and lo and behold another name had been added. making 2 males 1 Female So after checking, the female who I thought was my side, was married to the other male just added on BMD. I have now paired up my side, and the person helping me found another branch. So always be sure you are on the right Branch... Joan
