I've now exhausted the 1901, 1881 and 1871 online cenus sites for the UK. Has anyone got any tips on where else I can search online?

The IGI, this list a lot of parish records, not all there and some guess work on there but if you are lucky you can get a lot of information from it. But always check the source. you will find it under family search its the Mormon site. If you have a parish were they lived for a time, try Batch numbers (I think its called Hugh Wallis batch numbers) this is also based on the IGI, you can search for just a surname in a given parish for christenings or marriages. Good luck Irene
