Hi Might not help everyone I have a book called Churches to visit in scotland. This gives how old the building is opening times as some have to be opened specially. It also gives phone numbers. I would need details of area and name of church. Mary

Sorry to hear this. I know how pleased I was to visit a couple of churches where some of my great grandparents were married.

Margaret - that must have been very disappointing, but do you know the Diocese of the parish in which the church lay? The Bishop would perhaps know where the Church Records were housed (assuming it was a C of E Church that is). You might be better off going to the Diocese and asking them for assistance. Just a thought. Jacqui

Having written to the church where my g/grandmother got married, just received my stamped addressed envelope back with a note saying the church is no longer there and has been turned into flats. Margaret
