Another problem I have heard with Kazza and the like: The file may SAY Family Tree Maker (or whatever) but once on your computer and you open it, it turns out to be the vilest form of pornography! Devillishly hard to get rid of as well! It makes links which self open back to the porn sites and you end up with hundreds open all over the place! Even though you save a fortune, be very, very careful! My FTM cost me A$65 when I bought it from SN (is that right?) geneology supplies in the UK. That included postage.

Just in case some of you don't know downloading Family Tree Maker and most other files is illegal.Even though your chances of getting caught are very slim i thought i would just let people know,also a lot of the files are corrupted or infected with a virus. Steve.

i downloaded "family tree maker" someone has to be online who has it, check youre searching for all types of files.

i was interested in the gencircles site after someone posted a message on here about it but, didnt have the software to create a gedcom file. i went onto kazza and typed in "family tree" i downlaoded a family tree maker and created a gedcom file through it, it successfully uploaded to gencircles, just awaiting it to be processed. just thought this might be useful to someone because i know it was for me. jacqui :-) ps. the software is good too! it will calculate each individuals specific relationship to every other in your tree.
