Hi everyone, I contacted Ancestry to find out if there was any timetable as to which counties were to be added when. I also have a lot of ancestors in Wales and the 1871 for Wales hasn't changed for months. The England 1871 is at least being updated regularly, just a shame its not the counties I need! Thats always the way!!! The reply I received from Ancestry was: "We apologize for any delay in these new U.K. database's release. We do not yet have a time table for their release. We do plan to continue to add to their databases regularly in a piece meal fashion. Please note that in order to resolve many of these issues it requires research, individual rescanning, and other time consuming processes. For this reason the full completion may take longer than that of other website updates. Thank you for your patience." Sam

How much of Yorkshire is on there? If they have done Whitby I might re-subscribe! Jill

Hi Andy, Although I don't have a subscription to Ancestry at the moment I did when they were doing the 1891 census and I had the same complaint. I even tried emailing them with as to the completeness of their transcriptions and when we could expect another update but never did receive responses. From what I see, however, even though they say the 1891 has been completed, I know for certain that some people from 1891 census have been transcribed on other sites have been missed on Ancestry. That said, I guess it is better than nothing. Your suggestion about a doing a similar progress chart as FreeBMD is a really good idea. Sandra

Was pleased to see that Yorkshire has now been added, but has anyone else noticed that it's rather incomplete. There's no news I can see to say when it will be made complete. They are due to add Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire next. Would be nice if they had some kind of workload indicator such as the one on FreeBMD so users can see what proportion of data has been/not been added for each county.
