Trish, you can drag the address bar about by default. If you drag it on to another bar it goes smaller. When you get it back where you want it ( click on the "address" bit hold the mouse button down and "pull" it down screen and release) go to View/toolbars and tick "lock toolbars" this stops it moving again. This ought to be default but isn't. Bob

Hi Everybody, I think I have discovered something. But instead of it appearing from left to right,in the usual place, it now is top right but much smaller. Its never been there before. But at least I can scroll down and find other sites now, makes me sound a right dumbo,I do have a little knowledge, cant say having a blonde moment, its an insult to blondes,as my daughters are,Im more like golden brown, with a few grey ones glistening through.Haha. Im going to try to find out how to restore it back to its original place. regards trish thanks to everyone else for their tips. regards trish

trish, do you still have the bar with all the butons on it (back, forward, home etc)? if so have a look for a line that looks raised - there's one at the start of the bar itself, and there may be one further along or at the end. if you see one move your mouse over it and if it turns into an arrow with two ends (check to see what this looks like on the one at the start of the bar if you don't understand) then click where the mouse changes into this and drag down the way. this should make another bar appear from the line above - with the address bar in it. hope this helps lianne ps if the word "address" appears on any of the bars then there should be a raised line in front of it. this is what you are looking for. this raised line allows you to move the bars independently to get them in an order that suits you. it is easy to move these bars by accident.

A bit drastic but what about restoring the computer to an earlier time, before it happened. My son touched something on the keyboard and made all the writing go big. Couldn't sort it so restored it and it was fine. If you have xp it's fairly straightforward.

Trish You may have caused your browser to go to full screen mode, by mistake.(This is actually a very easy mistake to make. It happens to me all the time!!) To get it back, try pressing the F11 key. Regards Sarah.
