where do i get gedcom???

Hi Jac, You can't go far wrong with using the free software from the mormon's site at www.familysearch(.)org - remove the brackets from this address. It's called Personal Ancestral File (PAF) and quite a few people use it to store their trees on their own PCs. The advantages are that it can write out GEDCOM files to upload to other sites (Gencircles and Genesconnected for example) and you're not relying on an individual website to store all your precious research for you. You would have to run a seperate family tree program, like Family tree Maker, there are loads out there, and then import your gedcom file to different sites.

ive just been on the site that was recommended-gencircles. my tree is only on gc, how do i get gedcom so i can upload to the new site? jacX
