Siobhan I came from Walsall and worked in Birmingham for a few years but I expect there are others on this site who perhaps live there and could help more. Have you got a 1800's problem with the name Aston Juxta by any chance? Pat

No I have an address from a death certificate, would is a big lead to my Great Grandfather who I have had trouble tracing. Just wanted to know what the houses are like are the streets. As I am hoping he is living with his parents and if it is the family I thought it was but could not confirm, I need them to be big houses.

Hi Siobhan A lot of my rellies lived in Aston, and sadly the majority of the housing was back to back or courts for the working classes and all have long been demolished. Brummy Chris in Cheltenham

If you can, go to Floors 6 + 7 of Brum Central Library - they've got lots of old maps, photos and very helpful staff.

Hi Yeah I think I am going to go to Birmingham Library today, as this is the biggest lead I have had in about 4 months, so cannot wait any longer. Regards

Christine They were theatre people, my great grandfather was a Music Hall Artiste. Do you know of any music halls in the Aston area. The address he was residing at in 1924 was Sutton Street.
