Hi Aileen, You were right in assuming that Sarah's maiden name was Butler. Edmunds was her previous married name. Best wishes, Carole

Hi all, Just received my rellie's birth certificate which gave me his mother's name.....am a little confused though because in the section which states 'Name, surname and maiden surname of mother' it says SARAH BONE late EDMUNDS formerly BUTLER. Does this mean her maiden name was Butler but she had been previously married to an Edmunds before marrying my gt gt granddad Jone Bone or the other way round? Your help will be very much appreciated Aileenx
