I have just found my grandfather's medal card online on the PRO documentsonline! They only have surnames A-B so far but am so thrilled. I now have the date he enlisted and was discharged, his unit and rank. Had to share this, I'm sooooo excited! Jackie

It's great that they're putting more documents on line. £3 a shot isn't bad - do I sound like an addict saying that?! Only need to wait until September until the Stephensons come on line, although I've find a Brain there already. I wonder if their service history might be put on too eventually?

When I logged onto the Census Decoder, a message came up asking if I wanted a free subscription to the PRO's monthly newsletter -replied yes and up it came. Newsletter had lots of useful info on it like free courses at Kew, so would certainly recommend you subscribe and have a look at it, especially if you live in the London area(which sadly I don't). You can easily unsubscribe if you don't find it useful -unlike ancestry.com! Jackie
