When was the earliest Electoral Register ? I'm trying to trace a marriage after 1901 with no luck - can only think of trying the Electoral Roll. Mary Brooke

Mary Try 1837online for your marriage. The electoral register would be of no use as women didnt get the vote until after WW1 and then it was only for the over 30's. Margaret

Sheila and Philip, Thanks for that. Yes it is a recent person I am trying to find. Hopefully the website will be up and running soon. Georgina

Hi again Georgina, Not sure but i think someone mentioned the other day that the new electoral roll comes out sometime in febuary lets hope thats what it means with upgrading, if it is someone you are trying to find have you tried bt.com they allow up to 10 free searches a day on this site, a bit limited though as you only have an initial to go on, but you could bear it in mind for a future reference. regards Sheila

If you tell me the name I'll look on my UK info disc for you. However if it is a common name I will also need an approximate possible location(s).
