Hi Ernest Have tried to check out a few sites for you but have not been very successful. It seems that gov't registration was pretty lax in years around 1880. One volunteer site has some listings- you would have scroll about half way down page to see the area for Canada provinces other than Ontario. http://olivetreegenealogy(.)com/can/bdm/index.shtml I looked at the NS Archives site and few other but not much help there I am afraid. Not sure of exactly what you are looking for but the following sites have links to other sites http://nsgna.ednet.ns(.)ca/ http://www.gov.ns(.)ca/nsarm/genealogy/ Good luck Sandra

All you lovely ladies talking about Canadian records. My old gran was born in Nova Scotia somewhere around 1880. I wondered if you had any tips on finding tyhe records I wrote to the Genealogy Society Of Nova Scotia; all they suggested was Cyndislist and theCLDS. To make things worse her dad was a deseased sea captain. Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks, Ernest Prendergast, N, Wales
