Hi Joanne, I contacted Southport direct recently to obtain the marriage certificate of my grandparents who were married in Singapore whilst my grandfather was posted there with the Army in the 1950's. I gave them details of where I thought the marriage took place, the people concerned etc and the correct certificate arrived through the post. To be honest, it arrived quicker than certificates for those BMD's occuring in England!? Sam

There are separate indexes at the FRC for all these military, naval and overseas registrations. They are not on 1837 on-line yet. If you cannot get to the FRC the best thing to do is telephone the General Register Office in Southport direct. Maz. XX

Can any one tell me when you get Married in the Army if the military BMD certificates are regester the same as normal marriages?
