Brooke Someone else was doing research into Romany Gypsies last year, and I remember that BBC Kent had a lot of information on their website:- www(.)bbc(.)co(.)(uk)/kent. (Remove brackets, of course). It may be worth taking a look to see if it is still there. Good luck Janet

I am trying to locate my grandfathers family who were gipsies from Peterborough. His name was John Ashton (born 1922) but it was his mothers family Smith who were the gipsies. I'm not having much luck as gipsies move about alot and don't have a tendancy to register births ect. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
