Hi, Does anyone know how you enter an illegitimate child to your tree? I've got a rellie who had this child then went on to marry her first husband (no kids) then married a second time after first husband died and they had two kids. The problem i have now is that somehow i've ended up with her first husband down as the illegitimate childs father, which he isn't. Is this making any sense? lol. Can someone help me sort it please? Tracy I think that you may have to delete either the child or the wrong father because you cannot remove links between people. In fact, you may have to delete both. I would make sure that the lady in question has 3 partners on GC, 1st hubbie, 2nd hubbie & unknown. That way when you add the child, you can allocate the the unknown partner. If you can delete the wrong father then the first partner you should add should be the unknown man, as I think that GC will automatically assume the the child is his. Though this might be wrong! I'm sure if it is wrong someone will correct me! I hope it works. Rachel

Thanks for your help Rachel, i think i've sorted it now! I did as you suggested and added another unknown partner. Then i edited the details of her first husband, swapped a few details about and hey presto!! Cheers. Tracey
