I have traced to my 5 x great grandfather's marriage. Now assuming he was of age (over 21) his birth would be around 1787. i have found two baptism records in the same parish to the same parents names for the same christen name. One is for 1784 and the other 1786. I have looked at the burials record and sods laws states that it is a faded document and i can just make out a surname, and parents name but not the persons first name but it does say son of. the record falls between the above 2 dates. can i assume that the latter is my ancestor and that his older brother died before he was born and the parents gave him the same name? |
