Member Since: February 2003 Posts: 80 Send Message	have downloaded gedcom to gencircles from family tree maker . when i look at others they seem different to mine for instance go to my son where father mother etc are nothing in these. go to other peoples they say father mother children etc etc what have i done wrong paul

Member Since: August 2003 Posts: 466 Send Message	It is all about the privacy settings.. If people are alive, it protects them by not linking them to their parents unless you select a different setting. Go to your file and select preferences and change the setting

Member Since: March 2003 Posts: 174 Send Message	Russell The same has happened with my file on there, some parents have become detached from their offspring but as all have died before 1930, i don't think the 'because of the privacy settings can apply' to them. The children are still shown but have no parents when you open the family page. Strangely though they do show their children. As there is not many preference changes you can make to your file and the gedcom works perfectly in other downloads i cannot see the reason on Gencircles.
