Also have a look at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb/~hibernia Most Irish arrived in Liverpool at the time of the famine and the vast majotiry stemmed from around the Scotland road/Vauxhall area. There are many links and indices on this site which is well worth a visit. If I can be of any help then send me an e-mail to [email protected] I am unable to traipse around the region doing legwork for people but if I can find local info then I may be prepered to help. Does anyone know the best way to start to trace members of the family who were born in Ireland. I don't know where abouts. All I know at the moment is that they ended up in Wigan Lancashire. Names are McIntyre. Mary, born around 1821, is listed on 1881 census but is a widow. I don't know the name of her husband as yet. I have recently sent off for her son's wedding cert which I hope will provide that information. I know her son was Michael and she had another daughter Annie that I know of. Any suggestions as to where to start??? |
