Andrea Depending on when, have you looked on FreeBMD. That isnt complete and doesnt have much in the 1900's. http://freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com/ Try 1837 online http://www(.)1837online(.)com/Trace2web/ this is a pay per view site remove the brackets Both have the indexes that enable you to order your great grandfathers death cert. Alternatively, go to your main library, county record office or LDS centre and check the indexes on microfiche for free You will need the certificate to find the date of death, the only other way is if you know where he is buried and there is a gravestone. Parish Registers will only give you the date of burial. Margaret
