Hi Joan, Not sure about just one family from a page, but can cure one page instead of 100's. I had this problem with the first census disc I bought. Felt a bit silly when I found the easiest solution for me. Go to file, click print, the check the box that opens very carefully for the option 'print current page only' !!! When you check this box - bingo - only one page gets printed instead of 265 in my case! Debbie

not to complicate matters but there is an easier way to carry out the task 1. highlight the text you want to print 2. right click on the text you have highlighted and click on print 3. in the print window that comes up , click on the one that says selection (as opposed to the other two options - can't member what they are just now) then hit ok this should print off only the part of the document you have selected (fingers crossed lol) hope this helps lianne

Joan: Word document is part of the Microsoft Office program. If you want to check to see if you have it, do this: 1. Click on START. 2. Click on SEARCH or FIND 3. Click on ALL FILES AND FOLDERS 4. To the left of your screen are 3 fields. The first one, where it says ALL OR PART OF THE FILE NAME, type in the name of the file you wish to find on your hard drive. In this case type in Microsoft Office Word. 5. The 2nd field, where it says A WORD OR PHRASE IN THE FILE, leave it blank 6. In the 3rd field, where it says LOOK IN, if LOCAL HARD DRIVE C is not already showing there, use the “V” at the end of the field, scroll and click on LOCAL HARD DRIVE C so that it now appears in the 3rd field. 7. Click on SEARCH. 8. The search results will be listed. What you will be looking for in the search results is MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD....the icon next to it will be a square box with a "W" in the box. 9. If you have Microsoft Word, to make for easy access, place your mouse over the Word icon that you found in the search results and RIGHT CLICK. A drop down box will appear, click on SEND TO and from the options, click on DESKTOP (CREATE A SHORTCUT.) This will place an icon on your desktop so that you don't have to search to use it. 10. From the desktop, click on the WORD icon and this will bring up a "blank" document....which you can type in or copy and paste to. 11. When you are done entering the data on this blank document, to save it, go to the top of your screen and click on FILE. 12. A drop down box will appear, click on SAVE AS. 13. A box will appear. At the top of the page is a field where you can choose where on your computer you want to save your document to. The field is labeled SAVE IN. Use the small "v" at the end of the field to choose a location on your computer.....click on it. You can save it to a folder you've created, my documents, your desktop, anywhere you choose. 14. At the bottom of this box are two fields. One is labeled FILE NAME. Here you choose what to name your document. 15. Next click on SAVE and your document is saved on your computer, to the location you picked. If you are unable to locate a Microsoft Word Document program on your computer, let me know and I'll advise on how to get it. Judy

Joan It doesn't have to be Word... Any word processor will do. Just start it up in a different window and copy and paste as Judy describes Bob

Thank you for answering but where do I find the blank word document please.. Joan

Judy

Judy Report 22 Feb 2004 16:12

Joan: Yes, highlight area to be copied....then with your mouse over the highlighted area RIGHT click and then click on COPY. In a blank Word document, take your mouse and RIGHT click again and click PASTE and the highlighted area that you copied will now appear on your blank document. To copy and paste pictures from the internet there is no need to highlight the picture.....simply RIGHT click and COPY, then RIGHT click and PASTE where you want the picture....it can be pasted on a word document, saved on your desktop, anywhere you want it.
