Hi Diane It was Horace Renshaw who married Phyllis Woodcock Jul-Sep 1937, Southwell 7b 1250 (note spelling of Phyllis and of Registration District). Are you sure your grandfather was not called Horace? The chances of there being another marriage Renshaw-Woodcock in that time period must be vanishingly small. The Southwell Registration District extended as far west as Bilsthorpe, although it did not include the Parish of Blidworth (which includes most of Rainworth village), which was in the Mansfield Registration District. A small part of Rainworth was however in Rufford Parish, which was also in the Southwell Registration District. Regards Stan

Hi Diane There was one Horace Renshaw born between Jan 1912 and Dec 1914: Jul-Sep 1914, mother's maiden name Lamin, Basford 7b 545. Basford is the Registration District south of Mansfield, stretching to Nottingham. Lamin is a rare name - three marriages Jul 1912 to Dec 1913. Mary E Lamin married Arthur Renshaw Jul-Sep 1912, Basford 7b 487. I seem to remember that in an earlier post you thought your great grandfather was Arthur Renshaw, but were looking for his marriage in Chesterfield. I think the information I have found is likely to be correct, as there are too many coincidences for any other conclusion. I hope you find it to be so. Best wishes Stan

Thanks Stan |ts uncanny but all the details you have put on today are all correct, but while I had GC logged off,I paid for 55 more credits from 1837 online, and virtually used all of them and managed to fine exactly the same details as you did, only to log back on to GC only to find your message. Thanks very much for your help Diane
