Help with Haydon's in Australia

When my mother died sometime ago, I found a couple of addresses, which I kept. Unfortunately they kept disappearing and re-appearing. They have just surfaced again, and now I want to do something about it before they disappear again. The names are Miss H. Haydon (born about May 1909) and Mrs L. Brampton (born about February 1914). I think they may have been sisters. The address given was in Coorparoo, 4151 Brisbane (I have a full address), and was wondering if anyone in the Brisbane area knew anything about them. I am still trying to find out more about my Mother's family, on both sides, and this would be on her father's side. Here's hoping. Paul (I have another message to post reference the Parr family, her mother's side, and am going to put both on the trying to find boards as well)

Should have said that the information is about 12 years old, but I am taking the chance that there is some connection still there. Paul

Paul: Just a thought, but if you get desperate, perhaps you could try writing to neighboring houses? Some of our neighbours have lived here for 50 years and they could tell you just about anything you wanted to know about the other neighbours, including how old their neighbours' "children" were, where they children lived (what city) what the children did for a living, etc. There's also the chance that family may have stayed in the home, after the passing of the two older women. Hope someone in Brisbane is able to help you. (PS When we bought our home, our next-door-neighbour gave us full details of the three prior owners, including the above information and much more! More than we ever wanted to know, too!)

Thanks Lisa, Sometimes the most obvious things are missed (DOHH, to paraphrase the Simpson's) Paul

Paul: My idea wasn't too obvious. We lived in San Francisco for a while and we just knew people to "nod" to. It was only after moving to this town that we realized how friendly (and nosy!) and helpful most people are. I would love to hear if you have any success. Good luck with your search!

Hi Paul. We've had a family emergency and I've been away from researching and GC. Haven't heard from any of the Ovens' connections yet. :~( Would be interested in hearing about the Parr side, if you would like to send the info. PS If Haydon isn't a common name, perhaps Christina may have found a lead for you!

Thanks Christina, there could be a connection. Would that Retirement Home be anywhere close to Coorparoo? Paul (on someone else's computer)

Have a look in the Australian Whitepages telephone directory for anyone with same name

Christina, Did a bit of map searching for the area, and a connection may be there. Just have to check it further. Julie, Checked out the White Pages, and although I didn't find the names I was looking for, I found possible connections close by, same area and code. Will follow them up when I can. Thanks again to the both of you. Paul
