I had a great aunt Kit, only found out since doing this that her name was really Kate Edith............ Yvette

I had an 'Aunty Kit', and her name was definitely Kathleen.

it could also be short for katie - sometimes katie is short for something else but sometimes a name in itself lianne

I have a 2nd cousin called Christopher and he is known as Kit so Christine could be a possibility.

If a woman went by the name of Kit, could or would her real name be Kathleen and/or Margaret? If neither, does anyone know what Kit, as a womans name, is short for?
