What lovely people you all are - thanks very much, I shall look into the things you suggested. The one from Bucks looks good as I only live about 12 miles from Winslow !! But I was always told my mother and her family came from London-and as they married in Stepney I had no reason to doubt that - until now... O know they were evacuated this way in WW1 but as this was in 1902 thought they must still be in London- still hopefully one day all will fall into place ..!!!!

Hi - Have you considered trying another spelling of the name as this happened to me and the lovely Crista sorted it. I was researching Fennymore in the 1901 and in fact it was there alright but under Fennyman - regards Shirli

I have my grandparents marriage certificate dated 1902 in Stepney London, stating the grooms father as James Viccars - Police Constable. Now if that was in 1902 why can't I find him on the 1901 census? There are only 2 James Viccars that I can, see one is 3 years old and the other is 21. The groom is 22 !! So where do I go from here?
