Just thought you would like to know have now found two of the 3 I was looking for Wilfred was under B Shonvelle and frederick Harold was under ..... and Strouselle. Don't think there is a single correct transcription of this family. Have emailed ancestry and 1901 site and some have now been put right ,so now there is hope for the rest of you. Just one more to find. Andrew Percy Strouvelle on 1901 site , have him on the other census/ sites p.s if I search in the box above it brings up matches on the general topoics boards, not this one.... anyone else find this happen to them... merry xmas Kim

THANKS Emma, thought that was my man too , have checcked though and the writings very neat. My Wilfred didn't marry until 1909 and his Wife was Olive,Not Sarah. just would like to find him. have his marriage certificate but don't know what he was doing prior to that . There is a possiblity he was in the army but that doesn't apply to his brothers . KIM

Kim, Found this on 1901: Charles Brummell 2 London Wood Green Middlesex Hornsey Harold Brummell 1 London Highgate Middlesex Hornsey Letitia Brummell 30 Norfolk Carbrook Middlesex Hornsey Cook Domestic Sarah Brummell 26 Essex Chelmsford Middlesex Hornsey Wilfred Brummell 23 Croydon Cambridge Middlesex Hornsey Labourer On Buildings which could be a very bad mistranscription of the surname. I had a quick look on 1891 census and can't find a Wilfred Brummell born Croydon or Cambridgeshire. Obviously if this is your Great Grandfather you might have a better idea if there's any link by the names of the people with him. Emma.

can anyone help me find three 1901 elusive male Strouwelle brothers. On the 1881/91 they were spelt Stromwelle and then Stronvelle. but by 1901 only the women remain (spelt Strowvelle.) I am looking for Wilfred Alexander Strouvelle b1880/81 croydon: Andrew Percy Strouvelle b 30.6.1875 Kendal lancs and Frederick Strouvelle b 1887/8 croydon . I have tried various permutations and wildcards, I have looked in hospitals around the london area , I have looked on the Boer war names listed on the website mentioned on these pages, I have checked orphanages, but I can't find any of them. Percy was last on 1891 in Strand, London and the other 2 were in Croydon 1891 with their mother which I have found.on 1901. Any inspirations please . I know they existed as Wilfred was my Great granfather . Any help appreciated as would like to know their jobs. Kim. ps sorry for waffling
