My great great grandather Joseph Redfern married his second wife Sarah Ellen Hughes on 10th July 1909 in Manchester. My elderly great aunt assures me that they had a daughter called Constance Redfern. However, they have no idea of how old she was and I am unable to find any record of her, I have even tried electoral registers to no avail. My aunt recalls that Constance married a gentleman called Clifford Schmidt, who had changed his name to Smith during the first world war. Eventually she believes they moved to Dagenham so Clifford could work at the car manufacturers. After my great great grandfather was married a third time in 1945 she was not heard from again. If anybody has any ideas where I can try looking I would be most grateful as I have tried everywhere I can think of. Katherine.
